I think the best episodes are the ones that are controversial. Before Rick and Eddah’s date the highly rated show was with the chic from South C who does not do fries. As much as the Kenyans on social media attacked the ladies on various social media networks, you have to admit that the ladies were entertaining enough to keep you glued to the screen to the end of the show.
Many people that come to the show have different reasons for asking for the dates. Malonza and Yvonne were chilling at Sierra Lounge and Brasserie. On the first date, Serah and Kiptoo, the guy seemed to be having a broken past that he was looking to mend it. On the other hand, Sarah was looking for a shoulder to lean on, a friend perhaps.
On the second date between Max and Kate was looking to make friends and someone who can be easy to get ‘physical’ with. While his date Kate, a humble looking girl seemed more into love.
The second date was a swimming date which was kind of unique so far. The couple went for the date at The Boma Hotel in South C. Kate decided to come out sexy with a bikini which might have been a plus for someone who was more into the physical part of the relationship.
Kate was a bit more comfortable even though a man she did not know was holding her in the least amount of clothing she could wear. The guy controlled most part of the date and the conversation. Kate played the good girl and let the guy control the date.
The Bad
The first date was plain boring, truth be told. There was nothing interesting to show except for the fact that the venue was beautiful. As much as the girl was patient, the guy had lots of things that a woman may not really be into. Some he could control but others are not really in his control.
His English was somehow affected by his place of origin which could have been better if he stuck more to Kiswahili. They were on different pages as far as the life is concerned. The guy was more conservative and his religion might be conflicting with the lifestyle of the lady.
Sarah said that she loves going out and suggested that she could drink while on the other hand, Kiptoo seemed not to be into the night life. Kiptoo might want a second date but I am not sure if Sarah would be up to that. On the first date, it is important that you stay positive and do all that you can to impress the lady. Let her find out other things later.
The second date was, OK but not good. It was just a normal one but the date starting in the pool. Only the guy might have enjoyed because as sexy as the chic was, she could not swim. Kate thought Max looked gay. Kate, I think you were right.
Meeting a person for the first time can be very tricky. In this case, Kate believes that a man must be the whole package. The man looked frail, with long hair and earrings/studs. Whatever anyone will call them, maybe they just belong to the women and it’s high time men leave that to women. If you want to look like a bad boy, that’s OK, but you have to think about what the other girl would think about that.
Max is 20 years old and for Kate, age matters. For her, Max is way too young and does not seem to be looking for a serious relationship. Well, she was right again, because as the episode starts, Max claimed that he was more into the physical part of the relationship. As a word of advice for the men on the first day, the woman does not have to hear about how many past conquests that you may have heard. Close the deal before revealing some information.
The Unknown
It is not clear whether the first date had any fruits that will spark a serious relationship. As much as they both had good intentions while coming for Tujuane, there was no real chemistry that will say that the couple is definitely going to have another date and another. Maybe they will be able to mend fences and meet halfway.
The second date Kate does not look to want any more of what she had apart from the venue but Max simply wants more and he might have to work for it. Most relationships start by saying the ladies saying ‘NO’, just so they don’t seem easy going.
Therefore, off camera, the future of that entirely depends on Max and what he will do to convince Kate that he is the one she needs. Time will tell and we have no idea what the future holds for these two young people.
The Best Moment
The first date had no real sparking moment. It was all normal and therefore it can be hard to pinpoint one particular event that stood out. Maybe the controversy about their religion. That does not mean I am a sadist just because a pointing out a controversy as the “best moment”. I think the couple could have given us more.
The best part of the second date was right at the beginning when the chic showed up in a bikini. That was something I did not expect. Yes it was swimming, but most of us thought that she might show up in one of those costumes that concealed everything. Quite the contrary, she decided to reveal it all on camera and I admit that she really had something to show.
Advice to Max, don’t let that go. Work on it all you can.
The Bottom Line
Both dates were just normal ones with no real spark and both are in doubt whether there is any chance that they will continue. We cannot wait for the next Tujuane episode to see whether they will come up with something better for the audience. Tujuane has brought reality to show to Kenya in a way that not most directors and producers have managed so far. There we give credit to the Tujuane crew for yet another good episode expecting more match making in future.
