Well, this is the combination that resulted after an alliance between United Republican Party and The National Alliance.
People flocked the Afraha Stadium to be witnesses to this ‘Marriage’ that took part between the two heads of the party Uhuru and Ruto.
However, the question remains; is it for the betterment of a non ethnic nation or is it all race to the State House?
Well, History might repeat itself. In any case if it does; where Uhuru will be Kenya’s 4th President, then Ruto will be the Vice-president.
It is an alliance that is being portrayed as marriage. Don’t know if it qualifies to be a ‘gay marriage’; however, it is definite that Ruto is the Bride while Uhuru is the Groom.
It is good to set matters straight; there was no kissing of the Bride but there was an exchange of caps and a warm hug that solemnized this marriage.
Critics did not take long, who might be the people trying to place an asunder. There is the Kalenjin community, the criminal charges at the ICC and many others including other presidential aspirants.
The local mwananchi might just be getting more confused with the ‘UhuRuto’ campaigns; noisy caravans, with people exchanging T-shirts and caps. So far, there are two horses with the third one being groomed to be brought to the public.
Will this make it easier for Kenyans to decide their leaders? Or is it a way of other unworthy leaders to camouflaged behind the public figures? Probably, some of the leaders have given up on the race and are taking the second best positions available.
So, will Kenyans voting for Ruto now going to vote for Uhuru? Well, I don’t know how this is made easier. Well, it might be even more confusing to more Kenyans if there will be a third Horse in the race. This is in case; the ongoing planned alliance between Mudavadi, Kenneth, Tuju, Wamalwa and other presidential aspirants is sealed.
It is amazing how different people have different views. Many Kenyans might interpret this marriage as a sign of togetherness and oneness despite any ethnic background. However, others might interpret this as just a dirty game of politicians. whatever, the version, it is advisable for all citizens to be aware and go only for the betterment of this nation and vote in leaders, despite their alliance, gender, economical influence, ethnicity and other negative factors, but according to the content of a persons character.
With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
