Let me state my stand on this declaration of wealth nonsense. I see no reason why a private citizen should be declaring their wealth unless its a selfie op. Is Bob Collymore even a Kenyan Citizen? Or should we start asking all tourists with work visas to declare their wealth.
Heck I’m all for the fight against corruption stories but who told you that declaring wealth is equitable to not being corrupt?
I don’t even see the need for public servants to declare their wealth. Your wealth is your private issue and shouldn’t be announced in public. I’m just confused about this one.
All I can say is that though I’m a safaricom shareholder, I see no purpose for my CEO to start printing their income in public. This may soon lead to every CEO in the country having to do so. Nope, we aren’t going in that direction.
