Having Money Is Way Better Than Our Children.

From Dennis Okari’s story it is clear that rape in Dandora has become a normal occurrence. How is that? How does rape move from being a crime to a norm? How does a fellow woman, lady, call it as you may decide because I was raped, I will make other girls pass through the same system?

This females highlighted in the story are clearly still young and have their whole lives before them. Do people still go for jam sessions? That’s a shocker because I thought that used to happen in those days. And again who goes to jam on Sunday? Don’t you even have an ounce of guilt? It should be a day that is set out for God if you are Christian and are not Seventh Day Adventist.

Like I said in those days, being seen with a boy was a crime, let alone sneaking from the house. How did parents move from putting boundaries to not caring at all? Parents are too busy looking for money that they forget that parenting is what they were called to do first.

This generation is maturing too fast and getting directions in the wrong places. I for one would think that Sunday after church should be family time. This can make up for time lost during the week. Dennis highlights one evil and everyone is up in arms hating on the gangs that perpetuate this act. Yes they are at fault but where are the parents who do not question the whereabouts of their children?

We live in a society where being cool is defined by how much booze you take, how many guys you have “banged” and how many clubs you can hit on a Friday. Whilst all this is happening the parents are comfortably tacked in their beds or still out working. Money has become important than children. Why did you get them in the first place?

Not long ago it was highlighted that it’s parents who actually go with their kids to pubs and “crazy” joints. This had the nation up in arms, everyone complaining that these parents should be punished. Who would punish them if there isn’t an existence of clear rules that define such occurrences?

We need to stop being friends first and become parents first. No parent died from doing the right thing, so grow up and do it.
